YOUTH TACKLE FOOTBALL
Flea League (Ages 6-8) Fee $45
Mite League (ages 9-10) Fee $45
Try-outs: Mite League – 11:30 a.m. on 8-20-16; Flea League – 10:00 a.m. on 8-20-16
Weight Limits: Neither age group will have a maximum weight limit. Flea players over 100 pounds and Mite players over 125 pounds will be required to play on the line of scrimmage tackle to tackle and must be in a 3 or 4 point stance.
Age Control Date: Sept. 1, 2016; Flea participants cannot turn 9 before Sept. 1, 2016
Registration Dates: July 15 – August 19 at 5:00 p.m. Registration after try-outs will be by waiting list only. Registration after August 19th will require a $5 late fee. No exceptions!
Practice Dates: First Practice will be August 30, 2016; All practices will be Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:00 – 7:45 p.m. at Kaolin Park.
Equipment Issuance: Flea League will get equipment on Thursday, August 25 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the KP Gym and Mite League will be fitted on Monday, August 29 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the KP Gym. Players must attend to be properly fitted and find out what team they are on. If you will miss this day, set up a time with staff personnel during practice time to be fitted. Office staff will not be allowed to issue equipment to players or parents!
Children will be responsible for providing chin straps, mouth pieces and pants. These will be available for purchase from WCRD. Prices are as follows: Pants – $25; Chin Strap – $2; Mouth Piece $1. Weight will be determined by WCRD scales. No exceptions! All players will be weighed at try-outs. If a player’s weight doesn’t meet eligibility, parents and players will be notified.
First practice will be August 30, 2016
There will be no practices on Monday, Sept. 5th due to the holiday.
Flea (ages 4-8) & Mite (ages 9-12) Both age groups will cheer for contact football.

Practices will be held in the Kaolin Park Gym from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on August 23, 25, 30, Sept. 1, 6, 13, 15, 20 & 22. First Football Games are scheduled for Septebmer 24, 2016.
Cheerleaders will cheer at all home WCRD games. The coordinator will make every effort to put friends together, but being placed on the same team cannot be guaranteed. Tennis shoes must be worn at all practices.
Mandatory Meeting for Cheerleaders & Parents: Saturday, August 20, 2016 @ 10:00 a.m.
This meeting will determine if enough girls are signed up to conduct this program. At least 5 girls will be needed per squad. Requests will be taken for friends wanting to cheer on the same squad. Girls will be fitted for uniforms and team moms will be secured for the squads. If you want your child to have bloomers underneath their skirt, the fee must be paid during this fitting time. Two team moms will be need for each squad. If you volunteer, please plan to attend all games to provide supervision for the team.
