The patrol division is the most visible part of any Sheriff’s Office. Our Patrol unit responds to calls as they are dispatched by 911. When not responding to the calls, the patrol unit serves warrants and civil papers that are processed by our Office, and provides traffic enforcement as necessary. The patrol unit strives to ensure the safety of the citizens and visitors of Washington County.
We currently have four units that each work twelve hour shifts.

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION:
The Investigations Division of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the investigative follow-up of incident reports taken by the Patrol Division. The Investigators are charged with the duties of investigating crimes against property, which include burglary, theft, criminal trespass, and other issues that may arise. These duties are in conjunction with the investigation of crimes against persons, such as armed robbery, murder, aggravated assault, battery, rape, child molestation, financial transaction fraud, and harassment. We currently have one investigator assigned to narcotics investigations as well.
