Full Time Clerk

Washington County Magistrate Office

This individual performs the administrative and executive duties essential to the effective operation of the magistrate courts. The work involves entering data into the computer for suits and judgments. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief Magistrate; job is reviewed by observation and through the examination of oral and written reports.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. File warrants.
  2. Type checks for criminal court.
  3. Input data in GCIC.
  4. Maintain accurate receipt reports for Washington County.
  5. Create and validate warrants.
  6. Maintain criminal docket.
  7. Create monthly and quarterly reports.
  8. Set up criminal and civil hearings.
  9. Travel to jail to establish bonds.

Full Time Personal Property Appraiser/Auditor

Washington County Tax Assessors

Closing Date:  August 17, 2018

This entry-level position is responsible for assisting the Chief Tax Appraiser with the appraisal and auditing of real and personal properties for the purposes of assessment. The position requires office work with some time spent in the field, which may involve inclement weather and/or hazardous conditions.

  1. Candidates must possess a minimum of an Appraiser I certification, as mandated by the Georgia Department of Revenue, or have the ability to attain the necessary certification within 6 months.
  2. Candidate must also be computer literate and be skilled in both written and oral communications and have an understanding of basic mathematics and accounting. Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license.
  3. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to relate to a wide variety of people. The candidate must also have to ability to interact with other county departments and regulatory agencies.
  4. Ideal candidate will have associates degree or higher in accounting or related field.
  5. Candidates must complete a job application, a background check authorization form, and submit a resume.
