Recreation Director (Recreation Department)

The Washington County Board of Commissioners is seeking a Recreation Director to direct and supervise the operations of the recreation department.

This position requires the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation, physical education, or related programs
  • Development and improvement of new and existing recreation programs and services
  • Strong management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Financial management with the development and monitoring of an annual budget
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with the community and businesses

Full Time Mechanic (Road Department):

 The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the Public Works shop (located at 1862 Kaolin Road) related to the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. This position is under the direct supervision of the Lead Mechanic and Public Works Director. The position requires proficiency in the following:

  • General mechanic work
  • Repair and overhaul work on vehicles, heavy and small equipment
  • Basic welding
  • Operation of tools (torches, drills, saws, grinders, etc.)

Applicants must be willing to learn and capable of operating equipment such as tractors, motor graders, backhoes, etc. A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
