Juror Information

In order to ensure that all persons are afforded their constitutional right to a jury trial, we need people like you to participate in the jury process. We appreciate your eagerness to serve.

Service Information

Superior Court holds jury trials on the first Monday of March, June, and December, and on the second Monday of September. Depending on the type of case, jury service may last from hours to days to weeks. A jury summons is mailed to prospective jurors approximately six weeks prior to jury service.

State Court holds jury trials during the months of January, May, and August. Depending on the type of case, jury service may last from hours to a few days. Typically, State Court jury services do not extend past one day. A jury summons is mailed to prospective jurors approximately six weeks prior to jury service.

Jury Service Exemption

Prospective jurors may qualify for excusal from jury service as provided by Georgia law. If you believe that you qualify, please complete the Juror Affidavit. The completed form should be forwarded to the Washington County Clerk's Office by mail, fax, or email to:

Jury Service Instructions

  • Please read ALL sheets included with your summons.
  • If you are exempt from jury service, please complete and return the included Juror Affidavit.
  • Please wear appropriate court attire.
  • Please leave personal belongings in your vehicle.
  • Cell phones are not allowed in court. Please leave cell phones in your vehicle.
  • No weapons are allowed in the Courthouse.
