Service Information
Superior Court holds jury trials on the first Monday of March, June, and December, and on the second Monday of September. Depending on the type of case, jury service may last from hours to days to weeks. A jury summons is mailed to prospective jurors approximately six weeks prior to jury service.
State Court holds jury trials during the months of January, May, and August. Depending on the type of case, jury service may last from hours to a few days. Typically, State Court jury services do not extend past one day. A jury summons is mailed to prospective jurors approximately six weeks prior to jury service.
Jury Service Exemption
Prospective jurors may qualify for excusal from jury service as provided by Georgia law. If you believe that you qualify, please complete the Juror Affidavit. The completed form should be forwarded to the Washington County Clerk's Office by mail, fax, or email to:
