CALL FOR SPECIAL ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-540, a special election shall be held in Washington County to fill the vacancy in the office of Board of Education District Two, caused by the resignation of Kristi Jenkins and Board of Education District Four, caused by the resignation of Melvin Williams. The special election will be held on March 18, 2025.
Qualifying for the special election shall be held at Washington County Board of Elections Office 150 Riddleville Rd.), beginning at 9:00 a.m. on January 27, 2025, and ending at 12 NOON on January 29, 2025.
The qualifying fee shall be $47.25.
All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on February 18, 2025.
Early voting will be held February 24, 2025-March 14, 2025 at 150 Riddleville Rd., Sandersville, Ga. 31082 (Behind Busy Bee Gas Station) . Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Should a Runoff Election be required, such runoff will be held on April 15, 2025.
